This post is made to tell you about some interesting RPG mobile games that I have tried and found to have a good plot. The most important part for me was the daily amount of time that the game takes, so that those of us who are busy won’t feel like we are missing too much. Each game has a unique style and specifics, so you may discover something good for you.
AFK Journey

Released: Spring 2024
A successor of AFK Arena but now with a plot. It’s a simple strategy game that has a rather easy to follow story. It’s characters are varied and world is diverse. Most importantly, it doesn’t require a lot of time to gain the most rewards from it. It will be good for people who don’t want to spend a lot of effort on a game but still want to roam around a magical world and relax from time to time.
Most of its combat is “afk”, that is to say, you don’t fight, you just strategize and put your units in the right stops and good combinations in order to win. So, it’s very convenient to put the game to play itself and only collect the rewards after since the grinding does itself.
Reverse: 1999

Released: Autumn 2023
It’s a 2-D cute game with mesmerizing sound design. It’s characters are unique and the plot is nice. Unlike many other projects, its visual novel style allows it to show players many more scenes unrelated to the main character to better reveal the story. It’s definitely worth giving a shot as it is generous with rewards for the new players and will definitely captivate you with its stunning visuals.
Out of all the games, this one I have discovered for myself only recently, so I have played it the least but this one I don’t want to drop like, for instance, Honkai: Star Rail. Reverse: 1999 provides the story in small bites and each change of scenery allows you to prepare for the next, thus, it’s easy to stop whenever you feel like it. This format is very convenient when you are busy and lack extensive amounts of time for long cutscenes.
Genshin Impact

Released: Autumn 2020
Way too popular for its own sake. It doesn’t make it worse, though. It can provide a colourful vast world to explore and a wide variety of characters for all play styles. It one of a kind when it comes to lore, though. In this sense if you enjoy uncovering mysteries of the past it’s definitely your game. And if you want to either simply slice or explore a vast whimsical world, this game has got you covered.
It’s main advantage is its versatility. It can provide entertainment for everyone. Just be careful if you are a new player and you want everything as it may be quite time consuming to explore everything that this game can provide. However, i cannot call it a bad thing, more like: you are guaranteed to have something to do there.
Wuthering Waves

Released: Spring 2024
It’s story may feel clumsy at first but it shouldn’t stop you from trying to explore it’s bizarre world. I have found the gaming experience to be fluid and unrestricting. It’s setting and art style also provide a unique experience.
It’s combat system is well thought-out and rewarding. The exploration may let you roam the place for hours. The world may be apocalyptic but it’s so full of life and challenges for you that you wouldn’t notice how it will become your second home. It also has got many things for the players to do, so if you like exploring virtual worlds, definitely try exploring this one.
There are, of curse, many more games like Honkai: Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero, and the new player – Infinity Nikki, but I haven’t played them enough to be sure about their quality. In this post I only mentioned the games I found interesting and having a format suitable for busy people since none of the games requires much from you to do on a daily basis to have good progress. I may review my opinions at some point in the future, but for now, these are the games that are nice to play and partake in the story of.
